Though written entirely in Japanese, there are clear charts to aid the knitter.

Aran knit patterns, written in Japanese with clear charts to follow. As shown on the cover, the Japanese designers are very adept at incorporting traditional patterning into modern designs, with beautiful attention to the details!

Cables and texture patterning is used in both tradtional and non-traditional ways. The yoke cabled sweater on the left is a very inventive use of cables, worked in a large pattern and accented with simple rib body and sleeves.

The vest and handbag on the right are worked in a modern design, using bold cables and textures with a heavier weight yarn.

The vest below is also a simplified shape for casual wear by any age, simply joined but a clasp at the top. Classic in look is the hat and scarf shown below, with scarf bobbles on the ends for a decorative flair.

Each garment is fully charted with clear schematics.

NOTE: As with many Japanese garment designs, they are often only charted for one size, and the knitter has to re-calculate for their desired size.
