In the Author's Words.....
"It tells what knitting is: a dance, a rhythm with fingers, hands, eyes, brain, heart - complete harmony. Function, color, shape and form of patterns are basic elements in the calculatin when designing a knitted garment. This book will emphasize the artistic way of thinking combined with a basic pattern of geometry and arithmetic - a creative dialogue between two disciplines ran by me over the years that has resulted in approximately 1500 knitted projects."(pg 7)
Author Inger Fredholm is a well-known Swedish designer and shop owner in Stockholm. There are 36 original designs including colourful knits and a lacey tango dress, all shown alongside photos of traditional Scandinavian knitting. And for your further enjoyment, a recipe is included for Very Swedish Cinnamon Buns!
The patterns are rich in design and colour, inspired by traditional techniques and shaping, with beautiful design details. For each garment there is a picture of the garment laid out flat as well as one or more worn on a model. One of the interesting touches is the inclusion of an estimate of the number of stitches in the garment - plus the pattern is rated for level of difficulty. A must have book for knitters!
