from Fiddlesticks Knitting

Lorelei is a feminine little jacket to wear over skirts or jeans. Choose Cream for a demure look, Ebony for a dressy look, or a bright colour for fun! Lace panels (large charts are provided) add a special touch, but all shaping is easily worked in the stocking stitch areas.

The body is worked in one piece to the armholes, then fronts and back are worked separately. Sleeves are worked flat. A simple crochet edging (photographic instructions provided) finishes the garment. Recommended for Intermediate lace knitters.

NOTE: Fiddlesticks Patterns use charts.
There are detailed instructions on the garment construction, how to work the charts and special stitches, but the stitch pattern designs are all charted.

Gauge: in stocking stitch, after blocking:
4 inches = 19.5 sts / 30 rows

Knitted measurement at bust.
Fiddlesticks Knitting Silk Sensation, 100% silk, each ball 50 gr/115 metres, 125 yds(approximately), an elegant 100% raw silk yarn.
Size 1: 33 inches - 6 balls
Size 2: 36.5 inches - 7 balls
Size 3: 40 inches - 7 balls
Size 4: 42.75 inches - 8 balls
Size 5: 46 inches - 9 balls
Size 6: 49 inches - 10 balls

Recommended for Intermediate knitters.

Recommended needle size:
3.5 mm (US 4) 24-inch circular needles or size to obtain gauge (Note: pointy needles make it easier to perform some actions)
double-pointed needles in same size as knitting gauge.

These fabulous new circular needles from Addi Turbo - the long respected name in well-crafted knitting needles - offer you enhanced features for both lace and sock knitting. They have sharp tips making it easier to work fine stitches; the needles are coated to give just the right amount of 'stick' so you have better control of lace stitches; and they have smooth joins between the needles and cord.

When selecting a needle size note that while the pattern has a suggested size (see above for Recommended needle size), you may need to use a different needle size in order to get gauge. If your experience with other Fiddlesticks patterns is that you have to go up or down a needle size to match gauge, then select the appropriate size.
