Lotus Blossom Shawl
from Fiddlesticks Knitting

The Lotus Blossom Shawl uses two traditional Shetland lace patterns, Razor Shell and Madeira Wave, which together create the suggestion of graceful lotus blossoms on long stems. The hand dyed yarn adds to the richness of the design.

It is worked by casting on three stitches at the middle top and then increasing down the centre and sides to create a triangular shape. At the bottom edge, bobbles are worked as the stitches are bound off.

There are detailed instructions on the garment construction, how to work the charts and special stitches, but the stitch pattern designs are all charted.

Yarn requirements:
1 skein of Fiddlesticks Knitting Country Silk yarn - a luxurious blend of 50% wool and 30% silk, with 20% nylon for strength. Approximately 800 metres / 250 grams.

Recommended for Advanced Beginner or Intermediate lace knitters.

Recommended needle size:
4.5 mm or 5 mm (US 7 or 8) 32" circular needles (or size to obtain gauge)
