The Polka-dot Stole is a lighthearted yet pretty and feminine stole. The large lace dots at the ends and in the middle panel (see "Design Details" link below), are echoed in the smaller eyelet holes which "dot" the stole.
This shawl is worked by knitting from one end to the other, following the charts in a logical progression. Afterwards, the optional knitted balls are sewn on. Most of the stole is worked in garter stitch and it is completely reversible.
Design Details
NOTE: Fiddlesticks Knitting Patterns use charts. There are detailed instructions on the garment construction, how to work the charts and special stitches, but the stitch pattern designs are all charted.
Yarn requirements:
Approximately 736 m fingering-weight yarn (our sample worked in a 50% wool, 30% silk, 20% nylon blend; 50 g / 160 m)
Recommended for Intermediate lace knitters.
Recommended needle size: 4.5 mm (US 7) (or in size needed to obtain gauge).
Pattern: 12.00 Cdn / 10.50 US
