The Raj Shawl features lace designed with double yarnovers for a bold, dramatic effect. The photo on the right shows it knit with Country Silk, for a light, airy effect. The photo below shows it knit in Raj Silk, a recycled sari silk (note that Raj Silk has been discontinued). Recycled sari silk substitutes could be used if they match the yardage / weight per skein of Raj Silk.
This stocking stitch shawl is knit on 5 mm (US 8) to 5.5 mm (US 9) 32-inch circular needles, starting from the middle top and increasing at the sides and middle to create a triangular shape. Lace is worked on one side only. The bottom lace edging is created with a series of four-times yarnovers which are then cast off.
