Elsebeth Lavold is the author of Viking Patterns for Knitting. Her site includes wonderful photos of her exhibit Knitting Along the Viking Trail.There are dozens of kits available of her wonderful designs. Unfortunately only a few currently with English instructions, but if you see patterns you like, just let Elsebeth know. She invites comments from viewers and for designs with enough interest she will create an English version. The designs are stunning and there are several not in the Viking Patterns for Knitting.
For lovers of lace, designer Dorothy Siemens has created several gorgeous lace shawls, from warm and cosy mohair wraps to elegant Shetland Lace style patterned shawls, plus original lace designs. Beautiful yarns - mohair, laceweight merino and merino/silk blends - are used in her kits. A must visit site!
Located in Mineville, Nova Scotia (1/2 hour from Halifax), The Fleece Artist specializes in natural yarns in a wide selection of gorgeous colours, including Blue Face Leicester, painted Wool & Mohair, natural and painted Silk and Wool and many more - available by mail order. Their main page of colourful yarns is inspiring.
Lynne Douglas designs colourful sweaters, warm thrum mittens and socks inspired by the beautiful flora and fauna of Prince Edward Island. Patterns and kits available.
Grace Ennis designed socks between the 40's and early 60's. Her designs have now been made available by Graphic Knitting Patterns - argyles and motifs including golf, animals, sports and much more. Great source for the Retro look for legwear!

Knitwear designer Maureen Mason-Jamieson is a talented designer of modular knitting. Her designs have been published in Knitters Magazine, plus one of her designs won in the 2001 Knitting Guild of America design competition.
